KIMBERLY / BE CONFIDENT IN WHAT YOU ARE ADVOCATING FOR
"Never stop believing that you have the power to shape and reform the foster care system."
Kimberly shares #HerStory:
"To me, Foster Youth Power means allowing foster youth to have the ability to have their voices be heard and for them to be there at all of the decision-making moments. This power also means that we are empowering each other to use our stories to create a positive and proactive change.
As the chair of the San Bernardino Chapter, I have experienced power as an advocate when I went to Day at the Capitol and gave my personal story to the legislators. This was a powerful moment because my experience had the potential to persuade the legislature to back our bill on stability and help future foster youth.
As a current or former foster youth, you ARE an expert in the foster care system so be confident in what you are advocating for."
