Candace O. / Stay motivated

I wish that foster youth had the choice to continue to see their parents if they wish. I was glad to be able to see my parents again when I turned 18.

It has always been my motivation to do better in life, and to continue to work hard towards the things I want. Being a preschool teacher in my own daycare center or being the director of a preschool center is my ultimate goal. I want to keep learning, which is why I’m attending Cal State Long Beach. My children help motivate me to continue to do better. I want to give them the life that I didn’t have growing up.

The advice I would give foster youth is to not be afraid to ask for help if you need it, and seek resources.
