Jahvon W. / You are not alone

Jahvon reflects on the challenges of being placed in the system twice, and how he had to get to know people who were trying to help him. However he thought they just wanted to take me away from my family for good.

"I came from a not care for me family, and gained friends and real family and a bond that's is very loyal."

Jahvon's explains what brought him comfort in foster care. He had people around him who not only cared for him but they were so loving and knew how to treat you.

Jahvon says “ He can’t even recall any bad situation..They treat everyone as if you're their own and nothing less but more.”

“If you so ever for any reason ever become a Foster Child it is not bad but instead it is very good and loving to all.”

Throughout his educational journey, Jahvon explains he learned it's not about your appearance in school. However, It’s how hard you are willing to put in the work, and how you approach yourself in a lot of situations in school.

"It's not a bad thing at all, but if you ever have to go through it and believe me when I say..you will be treated with so much love and respect and nourishment."

He let some people in and let them know that it is an scary feeling being away from everyone. As well as everything you know to get to know all new things, and people you have no connection to.

He states how despite being in the system. How he is open to the world and, wants to continue living life. He wants great at the things he does and do. He envisions a future of becoming a music producer.

He felt a lot better and more open and cared for after he let them in on my story and what he had been through. It's not about who you know but who cares for you and what you know is true and real and loving.

Jahvon reflects on what he think the general public can do to help youth in foster care. Give them some love and watch over them as a very great friend and being there for one another is a very important key and tool that we all can use because GOD LOVES US ALL THE SAME.

Looking back on his foster care experience, Jahvon is most proud of having the opportunity of having good foster parents. They put him in a good school, they put brand new shoes and clothing on him, He had some of the most delicious meals and most fun He had ever experienced with them taking me in trips, to the movies, skating and more. They put him in football, track and where he won trophies and metals.

Despite the challenges, Jahvon reminds himself there is so much to see and learn still. His family is a better caring and very love tight family now. He couldn't expect more, but he do miss the fun he had with the Foster Care and love he got from all the workers.

"Trust me when u tell you everything is going to okay, and you're not alone.”
