Travis C. / Inspire others to be better

Travis reflects on the few years he spent in the system. Having to go from having all his siblings together, to them all getting adopted out. Although It wasn’t like that for him. He was passed around the system never staying in any home more than a month at a time. Before he had to be re housed to another group home or boys ranch again. For him and his siblings the loss of their parents, changed their lives with them losing contact for years.

“Mental wear kids shouldn't have as much stress as they do while in foster care, Always worrying if or when your gonna have to move or start a new school making new friends”

“ Loneliness not having any friends moving around so much. I recall not going to any school long enough to get credits.”

Travis states education Is important and he wishes he had tried harder and done better. He says he can't make any excuses why he didn't finish school besides laziness. He wish he had gone to college, and got some degree, and done something more with his life.

He played sports to keep his mind off everything going on. He figured if he keep his mind busy, he won't worry or stress on it as much compared to just sitting around doing nothing. Travis encourages others to stay clean, and stay in school, promote inspiration inspire others to be better. His advice for those experiencing foster care like himself is:

“Every choice has a consequence and every action has a reaction. Keep out of trouble and you'll do finer”

If he could go do it again he’d give up on the rebel attitude and stop fighting everyone. He would stop being so angry, honestly he wish he used to think. He thought he knew things back then. He knows now he could have been a doctor, lawyer, or athlete. After aging out he got his own place. was working full time and had everything going for himself. He see himself having a better job then he has now, and having a family of his own one day. He wants to live life, have fun and be happy. He learned that jus living life alone is a goal.
