"She overcame this by staying hopeful and took it day by day."

A challege that she faced in foster care was not knowing what was going to happen. When her guardian and biological father went to court, They were not aware who they were going to be living with. She knew the social workers were going to place us at the right place because she spoke to us individually.

She remember before my grandma got guardianship. Her dad lost his home and we were living at different places. It was a lot going on and living with strangers is an experience that kids who have never been in foster care don't have to go through. She felt sad because she never felt at home living in those places.

“Education’s purpose is to replace an empty mind with an open one.” —Malcolm Forbes

Although getting an education at school sometimes involves cramming facts and information into your brain, this quote is a great reminder that critical thinking is more about opening your mind than filling it.

"Please acknowledge the people that have helped you out and let them know how much you appreciate what they have done for you."

Her goal right now is to save up for a car. She also have a goal to work as a volunteer in a hospital.

Priscilla did not have a mentor in her life when she was in foster care. She think a mentor would have helped her to not feel so alone.

"Trust me when I tell you everything is going to be okay, and you're not alone."

An accomplishment that makes her proud is getting accepted to Cal Poly Pomona. She tried applying after high school and got denied. She pushed her way to community college and tried once again. She remember calling her mom (grandma) that she got in and she was so happy for me. Now she is on her second semester at Cal Poly working on obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration emphasis on Technology and Operations Management.

She hope in 5 years she will be raising my own family. Also, hoping to be working on the operations of a hospital. Being financially stable as well as having her own car.
